Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you and will request that you complete our patient forms.
Your chiropractor needs a complete picture of your health in order to provide the best possible treatment for you as an individual. This includes your family medical history, previous injuries and illnesses, lifestyle information and details of your main complaint.
Please bring along any previous X-rays relating to your complaint.
Dr Fourie will then discuss your health-related concerns, and we will perform a complete chiropractic examination using standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests.
You may be asked to go for X-rays if further clarity is needed.
Dr Fourie will then suggest a treatment plan which may include some of the following interventions:
Massage
Muscle therapy
Traction
Adjustment/ Manipulation of the affected area
Dry needing
The prescription of orthotics
Exercise and postural advise
Dietary and supplement advise
Chiropractic spinal adjustive therapy will in most cases show effectiveness within four to twelve sessions, depending on the duration and severity of the problem. Some stiffness, soreness, lethargy or slight alterations in body function may be experienced after musculo-skeletal adjustments.
These sessions are followed by a maintenance programme.
Remember prevention is better than cure.
